RPA導入案例 | 用 UiPath 自動化「網頁資料上傳流程」

June 10, 2024

Modern global supply chain networks are increasingly complex, and the efficiency of supply chain networks is competitive.

In order to meet the needs of end customers, brand manufacturers excel in “product quality”, “product uniqueness” and “market response speed”. In the pursuit of “product quality”, manufacturers will need close cooperation from upstream raw material suppliers because the quality of production of raw material suppliers is good, The productivity of the manufacturer will be good and the unit cost will be competitive.

As a raw material supplier, the chemical outsourcer decided to gain insight into the RPA technologies that are also being used by manufacturer customers in order to speed up the quality inspection data upload process for manufacturer customers.

From automating part of the order fulfillment process to the after-sales customer screening process, the chemical outsourcer gains customer trust and deeper collaboration and satisfaction with the UiPath RPA process robot in the two processes most valued by manufacturer customers.

1. How does the raw material supplier know the RPA at the moment?

Clients from high-tech manufacturers have strict requirements for “Incoming QC” for Incoming QC.

In high-tech manufacturing, manufacturers' productivity is key to maintaining market competitiveness. Good process efficiency, unit manufacturing cost is competitive. Once a process yield is in place, it directly impacts unit manufacturing costs, reflected in financial figures, and is more likely to affect end customers' trust in cooperation.

There are many factors that affect productivity, including management of upstream raw material processes.

Therefore, as an upstream raw material supplier to a manufacturer's customer (the chemical industry), it is necessary to meet the customer's high requirements for upstream raw material process quality. When customers demand more and more, but human resources are fixed, how to quickly and accurately fulfill customer requirements?

Based on the recommendation of the manufacturer's customers, the raw material chemical outsourcer knows that there is an RPA process robot. This process automation technology can fulfill customers' expectations faster through software introduction, through RPA digital manpower, without additional manpower.

Second,Before shipment, start with the input inspection process required by the manufacturer's customer

When the chemical is finished with foreign production and before it is officially shipped, product information needs to be uploaded to the manufacturer's customer's system so that the manufacturer customers can control the quality of each batch of products.

For this chemical foreigner, the most tedious and time-consuming part of this process is

  1. The same item requires uploading the client system in 4 different formats according to customer requirements, so it takes a lot of time to convert the format alone
  2. The number of orders from customers is also large, with about 100 orders at a time, 3-4 days a week is the peak, that is, at least 300 orders are processed per week
  3. Some product information needs to be adjusted manually and uploads need to be considered first and foremost. A staff member spends 5-6 hours a day working through the process of these uploads

Every day, the after-sales technical service team has 5-6 product lot numbers to process. After manpower problem assessment, the customer needs to manually upload the report problem sorting results to the client's system, and manually uploading the report is the least added value.

  • There are 20-30 units left in the same batch. Once the problem is investigated, it is equivalent to pressing the same batch 30 times and uploading it to the client system as a problem report
  • If there are 6 lots in a day, that equals 180 repeat actions
  • It takes about an hour a day to process this upload report, which is equivalent to wasting a total of 3~5 hours a week

Now, with UiPath's process robots, the after-sales technical service team can regain control of that 3-5 hours

One of the after-sales technical service members said:

“I can use the actual investigation of customer questions and conversational communication to not only reduce the time to respond to customers, but also more time to search for the root cause of the customer's problem,In such a benign cycle, we are constantly moving towards the high standards of our customers

IV.Why did PGi Hua Ding collaborate with the development of UiPath software robots?

At the first contact, what we observe is the attitude and professional performance of the technical consultant and the business, such as”Technical Advisor” Marco has a very warm and positive discussion with our IT staff, which gives us great confidence in the technical aspects ; and”Business Manager” Kelly did his best to helpBecause this RPA development project time is really tight.

In addition, when searching for UiPath on the web, [PGi Hua] DingThe information content is also richer than other UiPath agents, so feel trustworthy.

Finally, on the actual cooperation of 22 development working days, [PGi Hua Ding]Ken's “Development Introduction Consultant” has a high level of understanding, because we know that the process of being able to truly understand others is not that easy. It feels good in the overall atmosphere of cooperation, and the after-sales service is also immediate when not in the factory, which depends on whether we will continue to recommend it to others.

Post-interview notes:

We thank our customers once again for their trust and support of the PGi Hading team, for supporting us in writing and presenting your story again, giving businesses that see this article more confident to take action and bring a little change and gradually practice healthier working patterns in the future.

As our home import consultant Marco said:

“In the process of communicating with businesses, it is often found that users have some misunderstandings about RPA, such as thinking that after the introduction of RPA, the company becomes a member, in fact, this is not an entirely correct idea,

RPA can indeed save costs and manpower, in his experience, with almost no cases of cutters, because today's businesses are mostly in a manpower tight state with little to no staff, and RPA's purpose is to reduce an already overloaded workload.”

5. What kind of process should I start from?

First of all, you must first know for sure,Implementing RPA is a gradual journeyIt's not a one-off project.

So usually the first automation process that customers start is choosing thoseThe process to see the benefits as quickly as possibleBecause they know they need to be seen, trusted, and supported by management before they have the opportunity to start organizing a cross-departmental project team that truly transforms into an automated operations priority organization that sees results at scale.

When it comes to “seeing the benefits as soon as possible”, you can have three considerations:

  • Full view of the overall HR layout, which places the most manpower and where do they spend the most time?
  • Where is the most expensive unit at the moment? Where RPA can be effective
  • Which process is directly relevant to the customer, valued by the customer, or the most dissatisfied at the moment
